Bruce Heen knows firsthand that the initial area you begin your career doesn’t necessarily mean it is the career path you’ll follow your whole life. One of the great benefits about the society we live in is that people can drive and push for their own success even if they decide to change careers. This is true for Bruce Heen, who has led a very successful career as an accountant in the insurance industry.
Bruce Heen has worked for different insurance industries over the years; however, that was not what he first went to school for. Bruce Heen first had first earned his degree in education. However, after teaching for a bit, he found that his true calling lay in the business not education. So Bruce Heen returned to school and earned his accounting degree in 1980. It was that same year that he now points to as the start of his professional calling.
Bruce Heen began work as in accounting when he began his first job at Sentry Life Insurance Company in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He began his career there in 1980 and it was only two years later in 1982 that he took the exam to become a certified public accountant in Wisconsin. While he became a certified public accounting in 1982, opportunity saw Bruce Heen in a different state. As a result he moved to Atlanta, Georgia as the Southeast Life Accounting Manager.
Today, Bruce Heen is still an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. As a member of this institute, Bruce Heen is just one of the thousands of professional accountants that are represented and held to an ethical standard of work. He is proud of his history as an accounting professional and his work through the years. He is proud to currently hold the title of Vice President for the Life and Annuity Business Planning and Analysis Department with Protective Life Insurance Company.
